Traditional Funeral Services

_____________________________

The traditional funeral service is with the beloved present.

A one day visitation where family and friends pay their

last respects, say prayers and to talk about the beloved.

This service is usually in the evening and/or afternoon with

an open and/or closed casket specified by the family. The

following day their is a service at the funeral home or at a

church of the families choice. The service consists of prayers,

scripture readings, eulogy, possible sermon and music. The

casket closing is viewed by the family then the pall bears

carry the casket to the waiting limousine and there is a

procession to the cemetery. At the cemetery there is a final

committal service for the beloved where flowers can be

placed on the casket prior to lowering and this concludes

the funeral service. There is usually a reception that follows

at the families home or a location of their choosing.
