George A. Kosco
George A. Kosco, 95 of Lorain died on Thursday, June 23, 2005 at New Life
Hospice Center at St. Joseph in Lorain, OH following a long illness.
Mr. Kosco was born on May 19, 1910 in Niagara, WI. He was retired from
the hot mill at US Steel in Lorain. He retired in the mid 1970's after 47
years service. He was a member of the Church Of The Open Door, Elyria.
He was a member of the Steelworkers Union and it's retiree's. He
enjoyed bowling and bowled on leagues. He and his wife experienced the first
air conditioning in the US at the 1930's New York World Fair while in an
exhibit called "World of Tomorrow." he enjoyed traveling and 45 years of
playing golf with his wife.
Mr. Kosco is survived by his wife of 67 years, Wilma G. (nee Orban)
Kosco, and a sister Irene Parrett of Lorain.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother John Kosco, and his
sister Mary Taksar.
Friends may call at Schwartz Spence Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals,
1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, OH, on Monday, June 27, 2005 from 12:00 until
funeral time at 1:30 pm. Rev. Robert Schroyer, associate pastor of the
Church Of The Open Door officiating.
George A. Kosco will be buried at Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain, OH.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the
Church Of The Open Door, 43275 Telegraph Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035.
