despite the heroic efforts of members of the Lorain Police Department and
Lifecare EMS personnel,.
He was born in St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Boston,
Massachusetts on October 20th, 1956 to James and Rita (Leydon)
Mealey. As a young boy his family moved to Sheffield
Lake, where Michael graduated from Brookside High School with the class of
1975.
Michael worked for General Motors in Elyria for 10 years, until they closed.

1980 and settled in Lorain, where they raised a son and a daughter.

league at Fox Creek Golf Club. Together with his wife, he
loved to travel, with his favorite destinations being Key West, the
Caribbean, and taking cruises. Michael and his wife just
returned from a trip to Key West last week. However, his
proudest accomplishment was the success of his children
Airyn and Michael, and he was always happy to help them in any way he could.
They truly were the light of his life.

daughter Airyn Christine of Lorain, and son Michael James of Lorain.
