Mary
Catherine Masterson
Mary C. Masterson, 83, (nee Amy) passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at
the Altercare of Alliance, in Alliance following a long illness.
Mrs. Masterson was born in Princeton, IN on April 23,
1927, the daughter of the late Harvey and Anna L. (nee Curtz) Amy. She has
lived in Lorain since 1945. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, The
Church Women's Society, the Mary Hartzel Club and the Pinochle Club. She was
active in the Summer Bible School Program in her church in the 1950’s & 60’s
as the Song Director. She was an very active member of the Lorain High
School Band Parents Organization from 1965 to 1971. She was active in the
PTA in the Lorain City Schools for many years.
Mrs. Masterson enjoyed taking care of her husband and
her children, reading, crossword puzzles, sewing, and traveling. crafting of
all kinds, cooking, baking, attended her sons’ baseball games locally as
well as all over the United States when her son Tom traveled with his
college baseball team. She took annual family trips to Indiana to visit
other family members and traveled across the country with her husband and
her sons to as many different professional baseball parks as possible.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, John "
Jack" Masterson, Jr., daughter Debbie (Dale) Grasse of Mesa, AZ, sons
Michael Masterson of Vermilion, John (Mary) Masterson of Sandusky, Tom (Tennie)
Masterson of Louisville, grandchildren, Amy Beth Anello, Andrew Masterson,
Kyle Masterson, Zachary Masterson and sister Louise Maclay of Sheffield
Village and nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great- great
nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death
by Baby Girl Masterson, her infant daughter, sisters Ellen Dawson, Velma
Thompson, Corean Hightower, Anna Lee Amy, an infant sister and a brother
Herschel Amy.
The Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals
was entrusted with the arrangements.
Burial was private in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst
Township.

Sorry to hear of the passing of your Mom. Remember the good things, I know
that you have many. In life the later years are not as golden as we would
want them to be. Know that she is in a much better place and one day, we
hope we can get there too. Love you guys.
