Richard Allen Keener
Richard A. "Big Rick" Keener, 52 of Lorain passed away on Monday, April 25,
2011 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after becoming ill at his home.
Mr. Keener was born in Richwood, WV on April 13, 1959, the son of the late
Holt L Keener and Gladys M (nee Canter) Keener, of Winter Haven Fl, who
survives him. He has made his home in Lorain for the past 51 years.
He was a retired line assembly worker at the former Ford Motor Corp, in
Lorain. He was a social member of the Knights of St. John's and was well
known for his cooking ability at many of the Club's Steak Frys'.
Mr. Keener was a motorcycle enthusiast, enjoying many hours of riding with
his longtime friend, Robert P. Prather of Norwalk. He enjoyed building model
cars with his grandson and playing darts with another longtime friend Mickey Lilak of Lorain.
He is survived by his daughter Erica N. (Ted Farley) Keener of Lorain, son
Joshua S. (Rosemary) Keener of Olsted Township, his grandson Michael J.
Farley, his ex-wife and friend Juetta G. Keener, his mother, his brothers
Randy D (Becky) Keener of Lake Wales, FL, Ronald L (Becky) Keener of Winter
Haven, FL, several nieces and nephews and his dog, Shock.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his son Christopher M
Keener.
Burial will be private in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
