Dorothy M. Gavlak, 75, (nee Reiner) of
Elyria passed away on Monday, June 20, 2011 at the Elyria
Regional Medical Center in Elyria, unexpectedly.
Mrs. Gavlak was born on November 6, 1935 in
Lorain to the late George Joseph and Lena Mae (nee Clark
Reiner).
The former Dorothy M. Armstrong
was retired from Moen after more than 30 years service. She
was a clerk in the quality control division.
An avid boater, Mrs. Gavlak also enjoyed
assembling family photo albums, gardening and painting
rocks. She was a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother
and sister.
She is survived by her husband Gerald A. Gavlak,
her daughter Gayle A. (William) Kovach of Sheffield Lake,
sons; Jeff F. (Wendy) Brandon of Schaumberg, IL, Mark G.
(Lori) Brandon of Munster, IN, Robert C. (Maribeth) Brandon
of Sheffield Lake, 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren
and her sister Irene (Larry) Phillips of Massilon.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in
death by her brother Joseph Reiner.
Friends may call at the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer
& Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street,
Lorain on Friday, June 24, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
A Celebration of her Life will be held on
Saturday, June 26, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home
followed by burial in the Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery
in Amherst Township.
