Linda S. Trakas

 

     Linda S. Trakas, 62, (nee Looney) went to be with God on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Community Health Partners Regional Medical Center in Lorain


     Mrs. Trakas was born in Akron on January 1, 1948, the daughter of  Jack and Jimmie (nee Mann) Looney of Lorain, who survives.  She was a graduate of Lorain High School, class of 1966.  Mrs. Trakas was an accomplished organist, playing for a number of local churches. She enjoyed ceramics and floral arranging.


     She worked as an office manager at Coley's in Vermilion.


     A loving mother and grandmother, Mrs. Trakas is survived by a daughter  Heather (Marvin)Tucker, a son Matthew Trakas both of Lorain, 2 grandsons Cameron and Caleb,  sisters Lisa Murphey of Columbus,  Lauren Shelly of Marsellus, NY. and  brother Craig Looney of Big Canoe, GA.


      A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Old Stone United Methodist Church, 553 South Main Street, Amherst, at 11:00 AM with Rev. Daniel Reinke, pastor,  officiating.

My heart aches with deep sadness knowing that I will not, in this life, have another opportunity to be with Linda.  She always showed me so much love and kindness.  She holds a very special place in my heart and I will always remember the times we spent laughing together.  As well as the times we gave Matthew the blues about one thing or another.  During a very dramatic period in my life, Linda was always there for me with kind and loving words of encouragement.  I am certain that God has Linda playing music in His presence.

I pray that God will shower His peace and comfort upon the family and friends of Linda as we endure this time of mourning.

Linda's warm soul was evident every time she smiled or gave you a hug.  She reminds us of one of our favorite verses from Ephesians:

...(we)may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God (verse 18).

In her life, Linda seemed to strive for this love. Now that she is with God, we know she is embraced by it.

She will be missed by all who knew her.

One of the best parts of my job is interacting with all the great people that come here to eat. I am so lucky to be able to meet the most wonderful people in the world here. At the very top of the list is Linda, her family and her parents. Linda along with her parents have never failed to bring the biggest smile to my face whenever I had the pleasure to see them.(with the exception of the other day when I got the devastating news)I was left speechless. News that someone I so looked forward to seeing was no longer with us here.That being the hardest part of my business and maybe as well as being the hardest part of life. But as I am writing this, I picture that contagious smile of hers coming from the kindest of hearts. It is something that I am sure everyone will carry with them as I will for ever. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family.
