Eileen A. Shaffer
Eileen A. Shaffer, 82, (nee Haas) of Lorain passed away on Friday, May 28,
2010 at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph following a long illness.
Mrs. Shaffer was born in Lorain on June 12, 1927, the daughter of the
late Joseph and Ann (nee Marren) Haas.
A lifelong resident of Lorain, she graduated from St. Mary High School
1945. She also graduated from the St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in
1964 and began her career as a licensed practical nurse. She retired from
Allen Memorial Hospital in Oberlin in 1992 after 16 years service.
The love of her life was her family and being a wife and mother.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years Roy E. Shaffer, a daughter
Mickey E. Teleha of Amherst, sons John P. Shaffer of Sheffield Lake, Mark E.
(Doris) Shaffer of Lorain, two grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and her
brother Raymond Haas of Elyria.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shaffer was preceded in death by a
sister Theresa Gere.
Friends may call Tuesday, June 1, 2010 from 6-9 pm in the Schwartz,
Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain and again
on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 in the funeral home from 10 am until services at
11 am. The Rev. Jimmy Madsen, co-pastor of the First Evangelical Lutheran
Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery Amherst Township,
OH.

Roy, We were sorry to hear of the passing of Eileen. Even when we know
death is coming it is still such a shock.... Our love and prayers go out to
you and the family... The Boys were here so often in the long ago time....
