David L. Koch

David L. Koch, 90, of Birmingham passed away suddenly, Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010 at the St. Mary of the Woods Retirement Community in Avon.

After his graduation,  he went to work for Pittsburgh Steamship Co for  the next 19 years, working up to 2nd mate officer. During the winter months when "lakers"  were laid up he worked at the family grocery and meat store, except during the war, when he served with the Merchant Marines.

He then retired and began a career with the B. F. Goodrich (nka Polyone) and after 25 years of service again retired.

David's enjoyed  his retirement years by working on his farm in Birmingham. where he has lived for the past 41 years. He also loved to shop.

A Celebration of his Life will be held on Monday, March 1, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio.

Per his instructions, his cremated remains will be scattered in Lake Superior, knowing that water from Lake Superior flows into all of the Great Lakes, thus being in the Lakes that he loved so much.
