Lenore
M. "Sally" Haefka, 85, (nee Scanlan) of Lorain passed away Wednesday
evening, January 27, 2010 at the Amherst Manor Rertirement Community in
Amherst following a long illness.
Mrs. Haefka was born in Lorain on August 3, 1924, the daughter of the
late William H and Bernice ( nee Bowditch) Scanlan. She was a graduate of
Lorain High School, Class of 1942. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Haefka was a very talented artist and was always working on her
hobbies whether it was painting, knitting, sewing, crocheting, basket
making or gardening. She was a boater and fisherman and also an avid
Cleveland Indians fan, hardly ever missing a game.
She is survived by daughters Rae Lynn Goldthorpe of Amherst, Sharon
Ann (Terry) Huffman of The Villages, FL grandchildren, Jeffrey, Shelly and
Sheila, great grandchildren Shannon and Shawn and a brother James (Jane)
Scanlan of San Diego, CA.
Mrs. Haefka was preceded in death by her cherished and loving husband
of 58 years Raymond in 2000, grandchildren James and MIchelle and great
grandsons Nathan and Dakota.
Services will be private.
Arrangements are being handled by the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool
Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.

We are very sorry to learn of Sally's passing. We send our love and
condolences. We will all miss her, especially you all who were close
through the years. Jim always looked forward to her phone calls on his
birthday and has missed those the last couple years. You are all in our
