James C. Heald

 

     James C. Heald, 90, of Lorain passed away on Monday, February 8, 2010 in Kingston of Vermilion in Vermilion following an extended illness.


     Mr. Heald was born in Lorain on September 22, 1919, the son of the late Franklin and Flo
(nee Cartwright) Heald. A graduate of Lorain High School, he attended Ohio State University. He served in the U.S. Army receiving a Purple Heart during World War II.


     He was a member of the former Christ United Methodist Church now known as Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church.


     Mr. Heald worked at B. F. Goodrich for 20 years and then Willow Hardware for an additional 20 years,  retiring in 1998.


     He was a member of the VFW Post 451 in Lorain. He enjoyed woodworking, reading and also volunteered at the American Red Cross and the Boy Scouts of America.


     Mr. Heald is survived by sons Richard F. Heald of Lorain and Edward J. Heald of Clark, NE.


     Services for Mr. Heald were private.


     Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain, Ohio.


     Arrangements were provided by the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.

Jim was not only a good employee, but was (as a lot of people already know) a nice person.  Jim was an asset to our town and will always be remembered by me as a special person.
