Milton A. Goodman

 

 

     Milton A. Goodman, 89, of Mayfield Heights formerly of Lorain died at the Cleveland Dialysis Center in Oakwood Village following a brief illness.


     Mr. Goodman was born in Cleveland on August 5, 1920, the son of the late Samuel H. and Anna (Reiner) Goodman. Mr. Goodman was a graduate of Lorain High School with the class of 1938-B. 


     He was a veteran of the US Army serving in both the European and Pacific Theaters during WW II. He earned one silver star. He was a member of the Jewish War Veterans.


     Mr. Goodman was a member of Agudath B'Nai Israel in Lorain and was a member of the choir.  


     He was a furniture salesman at Sears in Elyria for the majority of his working career. 


     Mr. Goodman is survived by  daughters Audrey D. (Michael) Weiss of Pepper Pike, Eileen F. (Bob) Dziak of Lorain, Marilyn R. (Mel) Israel of New City, NY, grandchildren Brian K. (Kelly) Dziak, Beth A. (Anthony) Cafardi, Bobby C. (Amanda) Dziak, Sheri Israel, Lisa Israel, Adam J. (Meredith) Melissa S. (Ari) Konheim, Kevin S. Weiss, great grandchildren, Marissa Dziak, Lauren Dziak, Madison Cafardi, Noah Konheim, Alayna Konheim and a brother Art (Barbara) Goodman of Lorain, several nieces and nephews.


     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife in 2007,  Nina (nee Plotkin) Goodman and a brother Norman N. Goodman.


     Graveside services will be held in the Salem Cemetery, 1435 North Ridge Road, Lorain, Ohio, at 3:00 PM on Sunday, April 25, 2010 with Rabbi Joel Chazin,  officiating.


     Family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to Kidney Foundation, Donations Department, 2831 Prospect Ave., Cleveland, Ohio  44115 or to as charity of the donor's choice.


     Arrangements are being handled by the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio  44052.
