Carol L. Fankhauser
Carol
L. Fankhauser, 60, (nee Street) of Columbia Station died on Saturday,
March 6, 2010 at the New Life Hospice Center at St. Joseph in Lorain.
Mrs. Fankhauser was born in Lorain on May 31, 1949, the daughter of
the late John Cornelius Street and Margaret (Meldrum) Street
Spangler, of Lorain,
who survives.
She was a graduate of Ball State University, obtaining a masters
degree. She was a retired first grade teacher with the Columbia Station
Board of Education with 30 years service. She retired in 2002.
Mrs. Fankhauser was a member of Christ Church in Columbia Station.
She was a member of the Divers Alert Network, Padi Diving Society and
Who's Who Among America's Teachers.
She enjoyed shopping, cooking, gardening, snorkeling, scuba diving,
biking, skiing, and being involved in her community.
Mrs. Fankhauser is survived by her husband of 37 years Larry D.
Fankhauser, a daughter Heather Fankhauser of Brunswick, and a brother Jack
Street of Las Vegas, NV.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by infant brother
Jack T Street, her paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. L. A. Street and her
maternal grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Andrew Meldrum.
Friends may call on Wednesday, March 10, from 4 pm until services at
7:00 pm in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W.
5th Street, Lorain.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the
Breast Health Center Fund, Moll Cancer Center, 18200 Lorain, Ave.,
Cleveland, Ohio 44111.

The sunshine that I've been sending just wasn't enough. Our friendship has
meant so much to me. I am a better person because of it. We were connected
in so many ways. JT, patchouli,... I will miss your advice, your spirit
and the Ohio stories.
