Gertrude M. Eicher
Gertrude M. Eicher, 96, (nee Nieser) of Lorain passed away on Friday,
September 3, 2010 at Community Health Partner's Regional Medical Center in
Lorain, unexpectedly.
Mrs. Eicher was born in Avella, PA on March 26, 1914, the daughter of
the late Christopher A and Sarah Jane (nee Paton) Nieser. She has been a
resident of Lorain for more than 50 years.
She was a dedicated member of the former Emmanuel United Methodist
Church, nka the Lorain Light House United Methodist Church in Lorain and the
United Methodist Women's Society. She was also a member of the Keenagers and
enjoyed painting, ceramics, cooking, crocheting and quilting.
She was a homemaker. She had also worked at Fazio's and was a
hairdresser.
Mrs. Eicher is survived by her granddaughters, Shelly (Dave) Pounds
Kaiser of Elyria, Renee (Don) Pounds McIlroy of Circleville, 4 great
grandchildren, several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren
sister Evelyn Duda of Pennsylvania, stepson Don (Betty) Eicher of Vermilion,
stepdaughters Louise Nagel and Darlene Donovich both of McKeesport, PA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,
William Eicher on Sept 4, 1987, her son Ray W. Pounds on Feb. 19, 1967,
sisters Helen Steffenhagen, Margaret Hageter, brothers Edward Nieser, Hard
Nieser, Harry Nieser, stepdaughters Betty Demes, Sandy Zsemko and a stepson
William J. Eicher.
Friends may call on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 from 10:00 am until
the Memorial Service at 11:00 am in the Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist
Church, 3015 Meister Road, Lorain with Charles Boales, officiating.
Burial will be private in the Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Lorain
Lighthouse United Methodist Church 3015 Meister Road Lorain, Ohio 44053.
Arrangements are being handled by the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home
For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.

I am so sadden to hear about the loss of Grandma Eicher. You all are in my
thoughts and prayers.
It will be one yr on Monday 9-6 that Dave passed away, still hard to
believe.
