John M.
Romoser, 68 of Lorain died early Sunday morning, May 31, 2009 at Elyria
Regional Medical Center in Elyria unexpectedly.
Mr. Romoser was born in Lorain on September 20, 1940, the son of the
late Paul E and Margaret E. (nee Hochstein) Romoser. He was a graduate of
Lorain High School, Class of 1959 and attended both Ohio State University
and Fenn College. He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Army National
Guard..
He was employed as a area real estate agent for 15 years. He also
worked at the former Lorain Products, Bendix Corporation and Loctite Corp
as a computer systems analyst.
Mr. Romoser was the former mayor of Lorain in 2007, served as mayor
of Sheffield Village from 1976-1979, Sheffield Village Councilman from
1972-1975 and was currently a candidate for Lorain City Council, Ward 7.
He was also a Lorain City Precinct Committeeman.
He was a member of the Beaver Creek Sportsman Club, former member of
the Sheffield Village volunteer Fire department, Sheffield Auxiliary
Police Department and a lifetime member of the National Rifle
Association.
Mr. Romoser is survived by his wife of 15 years, Mary L. (nee
Dreamer) Romoser, daughters Ashley M. Romoser of Lorain, Cheryl A
(Timothy) Greene of Avon, Gayle L. (Ray Miller) Romoser of Aurora, Adele
S. ( Joseph) Gallo of Brooklyn Heights, grandchildren, Timothy C. Greene,
Sean W. Greene, Andrew P. Greene, Tyler E. Gallo, Trenton E. Gallo and a
brother Mark Romoser of Lorain.
Friends may call at the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For
Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 from
Noon- 7 PM. The family will be present at the funeral home from noon-2:00
PM & 5:00 - 7:00 pm.
Services will be private.
