Lester K. Kane

    Lester K. "Skeeter" Kane, 75, of Amherst passed away on Sunday March 8, 2009, at Elyria Memorial Hospital Regional Medical Center in Elyria following a short illness.

 

    Mr. Kane was born in Lorain on October 29, 1933, the son of the late Lester L. and Jenny (nee Traster) Kane. He was a life long resident of the area, graduating from Lorain High School class of 1952 B.

 

    He served in the U.S. Marines as a Sergeant in the Korean War.

 

    Mr. Kane retired from Desantis Distributing in Lorain after 15 years as a route deliveryman. Prior to that he worked at Cleveland Press for 20 years.

 

    He was an avid league bowler at Slovak Home and Shoreway Lanes in the senior leagues.

 

    Mr. Kane is survived by his wife of 33 years Patricia A. Kane (nee Jaworski), sons Kevin L. (Jeano) Kane of San Diego, CA., Robert A. (Melissa) Kane of Amherst,  Gregory K. (Laura) Kane of Elyria, grandchildren Zack Kraft, Emily Kane, Gabe Kane, Chris Kane, Miranda Kane, Sean Kane, Conner Kane, brothers Merlin (Margaret) Linn of Sheffield Lake, Red (Eleanor) Linn of Amherst, sister LaVerne (Charlie)  Toth of Amherst, and many other nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

 

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Michael Kane in 2001.

 

    Services will be private. Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th St. Lorain is handling the arrangements.
