David L. Black

 

 

     David L. "Red" Black, 72, of Lorain died Tuesday evening, January 20, 2009 at the New Life Hospice Center at St. Joseph following a brief illness.


     Mr. Black was born in Lorain on September 8, 1936, the son of the late Louis and Edna M. (nee Tellman) Black. He was a graduate of Lorain High School. He was an avid boating enthusiast.


     He worked as a marine mechanic at Beaver Park Marina in Lorain for more than 30 years. He had worked for Fritz's Garage many years ago.


     Mr. Black is survived by a sister Joyce (David) Beckler of Berlin Heights, several  nieces,  nephews and lots and lots of friends.


     Friends may call Friday, January 23, 2009 from 4-8 PM at Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.


     Funeral Services will be Saturday, January 24, 2009 in the funeral home at 11:00 AM. with Rev. Kelly Clemens, pastor of the Florence Congregational Church, officiating.


     Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery Amherst Township, OH.
