Simsik
John
Simsik, 73 of Lorain died Saturday morning, February 16, 2008 at his home
following a long illness.
Mr. Simsik was born in Elyria, OH on November 28, 1934, the son of the
late John T. and Cecelia M. (nee Katonak) Simsik.
He was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church Lorain, OH.
After 43 years service, he retired as a rigger from USS Kobe Steel in
Lorain.
Mr. Simsik was a member of Ashland Erie Game Club, D & L Golf League,
and the Steel Workers Golf League. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, fishing,
poker, camping, traveling, and especially his granddaughters.
He is survived by his wife Sarah J. (nee Stipanovich) Simsik to whom he
was married on Feb. 9, 1957, his daughters Lucinda "Cindy" M. ( David)
Patterson of Sheffield Lake, Wendy S. (Nandy) Ortiz of Cleveland, Kathy A
(Steve) Martin of Lorain, his granddaughters Jennifer L. Krumheuer, Erin A
Martin, Gina F. Stack, Emily R. Stack, Sava C. Ortiz, Melissa N. Ortiz,
sister Carol West of Vermilion and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Sara
J Stack in 2000 and a brother Karl Simsik.
Friends may call Monday, February 18, 2008 from 5-9 PM in the Schwartz,
Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio
44052.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 11: 00 AM in the
funeral home with Rev. Jimmy Madsen, co-pastor of the First Evangelical
Lutheran Church, officiating.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the Scott
