Evelyn Sanchez

     Evelyn Sanchez, 52,  nee Rodriquez, of Lorain passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2007 in the New Life Hospice Center at St. Joseph following a long illness.

     Mrs. Sanchez was born in Manhattan, NY on August 6, 1955, the daughter of  Julio  Rodriguez of Ponce, PR and Francisca Santiago of Lorain, OH. She has lived in Lorain since 1982.

     She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel Lorain. Prior to her illness, she worked as a nurses aide at Hearthstone Assisted Living in Lorain, for 5 years. She had also worked at Fligners, Giant Eagle and  Polanski's.

     Mrs. Sanchez enjoyed dancing, cooking, collecting knic-nacks, her grandchildren and music.

     In addition to her parents, she is survived by her daughters Francesca (Jerry) Chisholm, Tiffany Sanchez both of Lorain, a son  Johnny G (Jennifer) Sanchez of Sheffield Village, 8 grandchildren, a sister Francisca Jimenez of Lorain, brothers Julio Rodriguez of Newfield, NJ., Angel Soto of Lorain, Anibal Soto of Vineland, NJ., Robert Soto of Minthill, NC., Francisco Santiago of Lorain, and several nieces and nephews.

     She is preceded in death by her twin brother Wilfredo Santiago, brother Edgar Rodriguez and two sisters Hilda Arroyo and Margaret Rodriguez.

     Friends may call on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 from  5-9 PM  at Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.

     Funeral services will begin at the funeral home on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 8:30 am followed by a A Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am celebrated at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Ave., Lorain, with Father William Thaden, pastor,  officiating.

     Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery Lorain.

     The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the Evelyn Sanchez Memorial Fund at any First Federal Savings & Loan Bank Branch.
