CONDOLENCES

Dear Charlotte's family,
Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the Celebration of Life service
this coming Saturday.
As most of you know I am a prior employee of North Ohio Heart Center. I
still remember the day of my interview with Charlotte, March 1983. At that
time I believe there was only 7 employees aside from the physicians. We did
allot of fun things in the office ie: laughing, lunches together, learning
the computer (at that time we still had a scheduling book at the front
desk). We also shed many tears together. I still remember the day
Charlotte's Mother passed away and in spite of her own grief she was still
able to be a friend to others. During many difficult health issues with my
father she allowed me to be off work and even called to check and see how we
were all doing.
In July 1986 my son, Mark was accidentally burned with boiling water. There
she was again telling me all about the Shriners and what help they could
provide for burn victims.
One time back in those early days She became frustrated with something and
said "Is everyone around here stupid?". She then took a break and left the
office for a few minutes. We all took a yellow post it, wrote stupid on it
and put it on our forehead. She promptly returned before we could get them
off and there was uproarious laughter. It was a very funny moment.
I did not always appreciate what she was teaching us about office practice.
In retrospect, I surely do now. She was truly a lady, loved others
unselfishly, and gave life all she had to offer.
With heartfelt sympathy, Sandra Manholt
