John E. Rost  

 

 

     John E. Rost, 65 of Lorain died Sunday, March 30, 3008 at Community Health Partners Regional Medical Center in Lorain following a long illness.

 

     Mr. Rost was born in Baltimore, MD on May 21, 1942, the son of the late Jack Rost and Barbara J. Emminger.

 

      He was a loving and devoted father & grandfather. He was a retired truck driver at Bridge Terminal Transport Cleveland, Ohio. He was best known to his trucking associates as "Gray Haired Buzzard" on the CB radio.  He was awarded the Safe Driver Award for  6 consecutive years.

 

     He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren

 

     He is survived by daughters Dawn Rost of Baltimore, MD, Tracey L Kane, Trina L Nitschke both of Lorain, son John E Rost of Baltimore, MD, 10 grandchildren, sister Joyce Baker of Capon Bridge, WV, brothers Robert Rost of Springfield, WV, Wayne Rost of Capon Bridge, WV,  and several nieces and nephews.

 

     He was preceded in death by his wife Mary T. Rost in 2001 and a granddaughter Kayla Rost.

 

     Services will be private.
