Edward G.
Novak, 91 of Lorain died early Tuesday morning, March 18, 2008 at Anchor
Lodge Nursing Home following a long illness.
Mr. Novak was born in Lorain, Ohio on March 2, 1917, the son of the
late Anthony H. and Margaret (nee Plica) Novak. He was a graduate of Lorain
High School and an US Army Air force veteran. He served during WW II,
attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant.
He retired from the US Postal Service. He worked as a mail carrier, was
a supervisor at South Lorain and the Sheffield Lake Post offices and served
as postmaster at the Avon Lake Post Office. After 40 years service, he
retired in 1976.
Mr. Novak was a member of Navity BVM Church in Lorain. He was a member
of the AARP, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Postmaster
League and a life member of the Sheffield Lake Kiwanis.
He enjoyed fishing and bowling.
Mr. Novak is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret "Rita" Novak,
(nee Gillies), his Godson Tom Novak of Strongsville, several nieces and
nephews living in Long Beach California and in Vermilion.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers
William and Carl Novak.

Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, on Monday, March 24, 2008 from 4-9 PM.
Funeral Services will begin with prayers in the funeral home, Tuesday,
March 25, 2008 at 9:30 followed by a Mass Of Christian Burial in Nativity
BVM, 418 W. 15th Street, Lorain, at 10:00 A.M. The Rev. Edward Leonard will
be the celebrant assisted by Rev. Mr. Robert Dybo.
Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery Amherst Township,
OH.
