Rosemary J. Levak
Rosemary J. Levak, 61 (nee Warren) of Lorain died Friday morning, October
31, 2008 at the Cleveland Clinic following a brief illness.
Mrs. Levak was born in Lorain, OH on December 21, 1946, the daughter of
the late Lew and Mildred (nee Bloedorn) Warren.
She graduated from Lorain High School in 1964 and Mt. Union College in
1968. She was a lifetime member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church. She
was very active in her church, serving as a member of the church council and
volunteering for church projects as she could.
Mrs. Levak served on the board of directors of Lorain Rainbow Assembly
# 8, Community Health Partners Parish Nurse program, Lorain Downtown
Ministries Assn., Family Planning of Lorain County, and Lorain County
Community College St. Joseph Center.
She enjoyed giving of her time and talents; volunteering at Community
Health Partners, Lorain's American Cancer Society's Relay for Life and at
the Lorain Free Clinic.
Mrs. Levak was a retired special education teacher with Lorain City
Schools for 22 years retiring in 1997.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, John M. Levak, a daughter
Marlee E. (Dan) Franzen of Arlington, VA, a son Dr. Steven A. Levak of
Cleveland, a granddaughter Ellen Franzen and a grandson Joe Franzen.
Friends may call on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 from 2-4 & 7-9 at the
Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street,
Lorain.
A Memorial Service will be Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 11:00 AM in
the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 603 Washington Street, Lorain with
Rev. Jimmy Madsen, co-pastor officiating.
Family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to American
Diabetes Association 4500 Rockside Road, Suite 440 Cleveland, OH 44131.
