 Francisco J. Fontanez   

 

    Francisco J. Fontanez, 84 of Lorain died Wednesday,  November 5, 2008 at Community Health Partners Regional Medical Center in Lorain unexpectedly.


     Mr. Fontanez was born in Caguas, PR on December 3, 1923, the son of the late Jose Fontanez and Micaela Cruz. He has lived in Lorain for more than 50 years.


     He was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel in Lorain.  He retired from the City of Lorain in 1984 following 25 years of service.  He enjoyed fishing, camping, and cooking for his family.


     He is survived by a son Francisco Fontanez (Marisol) of Carolina, PR. daughters: Carmen S Fontanez (Rafael) of Caguas, PR, Margarita Fontanez of Lorain, Elizabeth  "Liz" A Foley of Mint Hill, NC, Gisela R Hoffman (Rich) of Lorain, Ligia "Linda" I Darby (Trevor) of Lorain, Doreena D Fontanez of Lorain, Norma L Mulero (Manuel) of Mint Hill, NC, Nydia "Lydia" I Wyatt of Avon Lake, Doris Quiroz (Octavio "Tiny") of Lorain, Rosalina "Cuqui" Rosado of Lorain, grandchildren: Francisco, Marla F., Rafael Jr, Oscar, Javier, Jessica, Richard, Joshua, Steven, Devin, Wyatt, Elijah, Deborah, Betsy, Leticia, Charles, Marcus, Saundra, David, Melixa,  and 16 great grandchildren.

 
     Friends are invited to call  Friday 4-8 PM.  at Schwartz, Spence,  Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain. Prayers will be at 8:00 PM.


     Additionally friends may call on Saturday, November 8, 2008 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at  Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Ave., Lorain. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at the church with Father James Schmitz officiating.


     Burial will be in  Calvary Cemetery Lorain, OH.

I was so sorry to read about the death of your father. Taking care of your father in the hospital was a pleasure, just in the short time I cared for him, I knew what a kind and loving man he was. My thoughts and prayers are with you. You  are so blessed to have such a great family, everyday you were there for him and I'm sure that meant so much to him.
