Donald William Wilkerson

    Donald William "Donny" Wilkerson, 31, of Lorain, died Friday August 3, 2007 at the Cleveland Clinic following a brief illness.

    He was born May 26, 1976, in Amherst and lived his entire life in Lorain. He was a 1994 graduate of Lorain High School. He worked as a state tested nurse's aide for the last 7 years at several area nursing homes.

     He enjoyed working on cars, drag racing, fishing and hunting. He collected coins and baseball cards. He loved people and especially enjoyed being a dad.

    Survivors include his wife of 7 years Wendy (nee Wicker) Wilkerson of Lorain; daughter, Emily Rose Wilkerson of Lorain; son, Donald W. Wilkerson Jr. of Lorain; father, William Lorence Wilkerson, and stepmother, April L.Wilkerson, of Sheffield Lake; brother, Dennis W. Wilkerson of Elyria; and two nieces and two nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his mother Carol Lee Wilkerson.

    Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 Fifth St., Lorain. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home

    Graveside services will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.

    Memorial contributions may be made to a fund set up for his children at any Lorain National Bank branch.
