Jason S. Shaffer

 

    Jason S. Shaffer, 81 of Lorain died Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at Community Health Partners Regional Medical Center in Lorain following a long illness.


     Mr. Shaffer was born in La Porte, PA  on August 30, 1926. He moved to Lorain in 1956. He was a retired inspector for Ford Motor Corp in Lorain, retiring in 1986 following 30 years of service. He was a member of UAW Local 425.


     He centered his life around his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed attended carnivals and county fairs.


     Mr. Shaffer is survived by his daughters Laura M. Shaffer of Lorain, Diana G. Bok of Ravenna, 2 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, his caregiver Alice J. Zajack of Lorain, and two sisters Lena Dole of Pensacola, FL and Louise Edwards of Indiana.


     He was preceded in death by a son James Stanley Shaffer, his parents William and Alice (nee Worthington) Shaffer, three brothers Howard E. Shaffer, Ralph Shaffer, Carl E. Shaffer and three sisters Laura Fragman, Hazel Poust and Viola Shaffer, in infancy.


     Friends may call at the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorian, Ohio on Friday, October 26, 2007  from 5-7 PM followed by funeral services at 7:00 PM in the funeral home with Mr. James Hiser, of the Toledo Road Church of Christ, officiating.


     Burial will be in Pennsylvania.
