Myron L. Piggott
Myron L. " Bill" Piggott, 83 of Sheffield Lake died Friday, February 9, 2007
at the Northridge Health Center in North Ridgeville following a long
illness.
Mr. Piggott was born in Lorain, OH on February 15, 1923. He served in
the U.S. Navy as a Seaman 1st Class in WW II. he received the Good Conduct
Medal, Asiatic Pacific Medal with 1 Star, Victory Medal, American Area Medal
and American Defense medal.
He was a member of the United Church Of Christ-Sheffield Lake. He
enjoyed reading and traveling.
Mr. Piggott had worked at Fruehauf and Lorain Public Library. He was a
retired custodian at Sheffield Schools for 19 years. He retired in
December 1988. Mr. Piggott volunteered for 15 years delivering meals for the
Meals-On-Wheels program in Sheffield Lake.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian J. (nee Pennington) Piggott to whom
he was married on September 9, 1947. Also surviving are sons, Michael L.
Piggott of Hilo, Hawaii., Richard A. Piggott of Augusta, GA., Robert D.
Piggott of Sheffield Village, OH., 3 grandchildren and brother Robert G.
Piggott of Starke, FL.
He was preceded in death by a son Phillip L. Piggott in 1960, his
parents Myron E. and Helen (nee Linden) Piggott and a sister Dorothy L. Takacs.
Friends may call Monday, February 12, 2007 from 4-8 PM at Schwartz,
Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio
44052.
Funeral Services will 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at the
funeral home with Rev. Alana Kelley, pastor of the United Church of
Christ-Sheffield Lake, officiating assisted by former pastor, Rev. Robert
Reich.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery Lorain, OH.
Family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to United Church
Of Christ-Sheffield Lake 603 Sunset Ave. Sheffield Lake, Ohio 44054.
