Carl
E. McGinnis
Carl E. McGinnis, 70 of Lorain died Tuesday evening, June 5, 2007, at New
Life Hospice in Lorain following an 8 year battle with cancer.
Mr. McGinnis was born in Lorain, OH on December 19, 1936. He was a
1955 graduate of Lorain High School. He was employed as a salesman at T.N.
Molas & Sons Furniture Store for 40 years retiring in 1998.
He was a lifetime member of the Elks B.P.O Lodge 1301 in Lorain,
Amherst Eagles, social member of the American legion Post 30 and the
Veterans of Foreign wars Post 451. He enjoyed playing poker, camping, darts
and traveling.
Mr. McGinnis is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mildred R. (nee
Yonkings) McGinnis, daughters Bernice A Bickel of Amherst, Denise A Patino
of Huron, sons Jed A McGinnis of Sebring, FL., Dan E McGinnis of Lorain,
brother Ray B. McGinnis of Lorain, step-brother Robert Post of Lorain, OH.
He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, several aunts, uncles, nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Earl McGinnis, mother Helen
(nee Reed) McGinnis Post, stepfather William Post, brother Donald McGinnis.
Friends may call Friday, June 8, 2007, at Schwartz, Spence, Boyer &
Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 West 5th Street, Lorain from 4-8 PM. The Elks
will provide a memorial service at 8:00 PM.
Funeral Services will be held at Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home
For Funerals, at 10:30 AM on Saturday, June 9th, with Rev. Jimmy Madsen,
co-pastor of First Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery Lorain, OH.
