Nellie McComas

    Nellie McComas, 84 (nee Woods) of Lorain died Friday morning, August 31, 2007 at her home following a illness of several months.

     Mrs. McComas was born in Salt Rock, WV on May 17, 1923 and has lived in Lorain for the past 56 years. She was a  homemaker.

     She was a member of Tower Baptist Church and a former member of the Beacon Baptist Church.

     Mrs. McComas enjoyed church, gospel music,  her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

     She is survived by daughter Regaina " Sue" (the late Dale) Hall of Lorain, son Donald E (Mary L) McComas of Lorain,  grandchildren, Vicky Schmaling, Brian C. Hall, Christie Bertulies,  4 great grandchildren Wmily MIller, Clay Miller, Megan Miller and Kyle Schmaling,  and a sister Effie Woods Adkins of Branchland, WV.

     Mrs. McComas was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years Robert E. McComas on Feb. 2, 2007,   her parents Jay and Emeline (nee Simpkins) Woods, two brothers, three sisters, and a granddaughter Judith A. McComas in 2004.

     Friends may call Tuesday, September 4, 2007 from  2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Schwartz, Spence,  Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain. 

     Additionally, friends may call on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 from  10:00 am until funeral time at 11:00 AM  in the funeral home with Rev. Aaron E. Webb, pastor of the Beacon Baptist Church,  officiating.

     Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery Lorain, OH.

I just found out that Nellie had pasted away in 2007, She was a wonderful sister in law, I was married to her brother Russell Woods, he passed in 1994.
