To the Long Family,
I can remember going to Christian Temple as a child and always seeing Mrs.
Long faithfully sitting in church sometimes talking with my grandmother Vera
and laughing and giggling. I'm sure they're up in Heaven with the Father
now having a great old time. Please accept my heartfelt condolences in the
time of your loss, but rely on Him for the strength to get you through. Our
prayers are with you.

have always considered 'Grandma
Long' to be my grandmother although we are not really related - only through
the marriage of my Uncle Chuck to Aunt Mil. She and Grandpa Long have always
welcomed my family to many of the Long family gatherings and picnics as
extended family and I cherish those times - they were so much fun! I have
very fond memories of Grandma - enjoyed her cooking and crocheting talents -
although none of these talents I inherited myself! I will always remember
those Easter Bunny and Easter Lamb cakes - they looked so pretty, but too
bad they had to be covered in coconut! (yuck)
Grandma Long will truly be missed and I know she & Grandpa are together once
again and are looking after all of us.
Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the Long family.

We were so happy that Rev.
Donahue let us know about "Grandma's" status so that we could come and visit
with her on the 25th. It was such a pleasure to visit, talk with her, kiss
her and hold her hands while we reminisced. We will miss this grand lady
from Christian Temple! I remember her from the time I was a little boy in
the church in the late-40's and early-50's, keeping "herd" on all the Long
and Hellinger children each Sunday and also for all her support of me,
personally, when I held leadership positions in the church. We also
remember her at the Oberlin Avenue distribution, as she always wondered
aloud, "What good is an old woman like me?" and Linda Lee telling her,
"Grandma, you are the best 'double bagger' we have; nobody else can do this
like you!" She was a lovely, gentle lady and we will miss her.

To the Long Family,
Even though I only knew Laura Long for a short time, she touched my heart,
as did Millie. I feel blessed for having met both of them. My most
heartfelt sympathy for all in the Long family at this time of loss. From
what I knew of Laura, she was a beautiful spirit and I know she is smiling
down on all of you now.
With sympathy,
Tamara
