I am so saddened to hear about
your Mothers death she was such a great lady, I thought the world of her
and so did my whole family. I knew her when she was on the Lorain school
board and also worked with her at Murray Ridge. I am so sorry for your
great loss.

Dear Robert, Beth, and Chris,
I want to express my sympathy to all of you. I was very sorry when I
first heard of your Mom's illness and very saddened to hear of her
death.
Your mom and I were very good friends for many years when all of you
were very young. In fact, she sang at our wedding. That was before I
knew her as a friend. I knew her then only as one who had a wonderful
contralto voice. And, she could sing. She did indeed have a great
voice and I always enjoyed hearing her sing. But then when she and her
family moved to East Erie Avenue, John and I were living in a cottage on
East Erie Avenue. She joined our church and that's when we really
became acquainted. We realized that we were raising children of about
the same age and that we lived fairly close to one another. I and our
children spent many many hours in your home on East Erie and your Mom
and I shared lots of joys and maybe some frustrations as we raised our
families.
And, we fought several battles together - probably the most notable ones
with the schools. She chose to run for the school board to fight these
battles, and she was in my opinion one of the best school board members
we ever had. Her knowledge of education combined with her business
smarts made her a very dedicated and just plain good member of that
board.
As you know, we gave up fighting the battle of the schools and when we
decided to send our girls to Lake Ridge, your mom and I drifted away. I
really had not seen her very much in the last 20 years. But, I do know
that she remained dedicated to causes that affected people - children
and adults. She definitely contributed to our community in so many
different ways - and she will be missed tremendously.
I had so wanted to get over to see her in her new home. But, that did
not happen. And now much to my chagrin, I am unable to come to the
memorial service due to a prior commitment. I am a member of the very
small bell choir of our church and they will be performing at 2:55 PM on
Sunday, the 2nd. I am going to try to get to First Church before the
service to see all of you, but I cannot stay. I hope you understand.
My thoughts and prayers remain with all of you.
Sincerely,
Pat Morrisson
