Haskell L.
Griffith, 58 of Amherst died on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at his home
following a long illness.
Mr. Griffith was born on February 10, 1949 in Beckley, WV and moved to
Lorain as a small child. He moved to Amherst 30 years ago. He retired in
January 2005 from Ford Motor Corp as a torque data analyst. He had been
employed at Ford for 36 1/2 years.
He was a member of UAW Local 425. He was an active supporter of the The
Jewish Voice and the Faith and Action Ministry in Washington, DC. He was a
financial contributor and supporter of the Grace Cathedral in Akron.
Mr. Griffith was an avid reader and car enthusiast. He also enjoyed
spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Billie S. (nee King) to whom he was married
on October 6, 1968. Also surviving are two daughters, Shelly M. Griffith-Lee
and Laura L. Griffith both of Amherst, sons, Brian H. Griffith of Lorain,
David R. Griffith of Amherst, brother, Rev. Sidney Griffith of St. Louis, MO
and sisters, Jane McKinney of Lakewood, OH and Rhonda Griffith of Lorain.
Mr. Griffith was preceded in death by his parents Sidney H. and Ethel
M. (nee Dunlow) Griffith and a brother Anthony Griffith in 2006.
There will be no visitation.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 16, 2007 at 2:00 PM in
Ridge Hill Memorial Park, 44805 North Ridge Road, Amherst, Ohio with Mr.
James Hiser, associate from Toledo Road Church of Christ, officiating.
The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to Grace
Cathedral, 2700 State Road, Akron, Ohio, 44223
Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street,
Lorain is handling arrangements.
