To the children of Madalyn Dellinger,
I don't know if you remember Cathy or myself, but your mother was our cousin. Our parents were Don and Pauline Shawver. I live in Dallas, Texas and read the Journal on-line. At school this morning, I read about your mom. I called and talked to Cathy. She seemed to think that Madalyn had been sick for awhile. We wanted to say that we are sorry about your loss, but we know that she is no longer suffering. This can give you peace and comfort during your grief. It seems that our extended family is going so fast. There are not that many of us left. Cathy still lives in the Chicago area with her children and grandchildren near-by. Bill and I are in the Dallas area. I teach in Dallas Public Schools. It is hard to believe that this is my 32nd year of teaching. My brother, Bob, teaches in Toledo. His 2 boys are both out of school. One is in college and the other is in the Navy. I just wanted to let you know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Keep your thoughts on the memories that you shared.
