Louis Black
Louis Black, 96 of Lorain passed away on Friday, July 13, 2007 in the New
Life Hospice of St. Joseph in Lorain following a brief illness.
Mr. Black was born in Onod, Hungary on March 29, 1911, moving to Lorain
as a small child. He served in the US Army Air Force during WW II. He was a
member of the Florence Congregation Church.
He was a pilot who owned his own airplane and greatly enjoyed flying.
He also enjoyed boating and fishing. He had been a member of the Aircraft
Owners and Pilots Association.
Mr. Black retired in 1975 as the maintenance superintendent for the
Standard Pipe Protection Co. with 24 years of service.
He is survived by a daughter Joyce Beckler of Berlin Heights, a son
David Black of Lorain, 2 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
Mr. Black was preceded in death by his wife Edna (nee Tellman) Black in
2002, parents Louis and Mary (nee Nemeth) Black, Sr., sisters Helen Bare,
Ann Tebault, a sister in infancy and a brother Joseph Black.
Friends may call Monday, July 16, 2007 from 4-8 PM at the Schwartz,
Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.
Funeral Services in the funeral home will be at 10:30AM on Tuesday,
July 17, 2007, with Rev. R. Kelly Clemens, pastor of the Florence
Congregational Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery Amherst Township,
OH.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the
Florence Congregation Church, 11801 St. Rt. 113, Berlin Heights, OH
44814.

We will miss your
Dad. However, he has left many memories with us remember when he made a
basketball pole for our kids in Avon. Remember the Corvette rebuild , Every
time we walk on Leotas' sidewalk that he painted we think of him he was
always a part of us.
