Relation: Best friend.
40 years ago when I was only 15
years old, I met a friend lving at Euclid St. and Colorado Ave. in Cromwell
Gardens in Lorain, Ohio. From that day until the last time I talked to him
from here in Las Vegas, Nevada, last week he was the best friend I ever had.
I was the best man at his wedding and he was the best man at mine. Me and my
buddy Craig Rak even helped Al get his first job in the Bearing Business at
Bearing Distributors on 28th St. and Grove Ave. 35 years go. Which he
excelled at doing inside sales and sales management his entire life.
Al Barefield was a man who was loved by his family and especially by his
friends. In the late 1960's he was one of the most popular kids in Lorain
High School. He knew so many kids in Lorain that one time I made the remark
to him: that at one time or another we had hung around with every group of
kids in Lorain at that time that were of our age group.
He was there for me 100 times when we were kids, and I loved him all of my
life for it. Me and all of his friends from Lorain that are now living in
Las Vegas will miss him very much. But we will always have those teenage
memories of a guy that was fun to know and fun to do things with there.
God Bless you Al. Good Luck to the "Big-A".
Yours Truly,
Jim Gohlke - "Gokes". linemaker.com
