Leona R. Rogers
Leona R. Rogers, 97 (nee Gerhart) of Amherst died Wednesday, March 22,
2006 at Anchor Lodge Retirement Village following a long illness.
Mrs. Rogers was born in Lorain, OH on June 28, 1908, and lived here
until 1948 moving to Amherst. She was a 1926 graduate of Lorain High School.
She was a homemaker. She is s member of St. Peter United Church of Christ in
Amherst.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Queen City Chapter # 66
and the Lakeland Women's Club. She enjoyed reading.
Mrs. Rogers is survived by a son Theodore C. Rogers of New York, NY, 2
grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, sister Florence Mate of Lorain, OH and
brother Alfred Gerhart of Chatanooga, TN .
She is preceded in death by her husband William T. Rogers in 1998, her
parents Frederick and Adela (nee Pekrul) Gerhart and a brother Herman
Gerhart.
At the family's request there will be no visitation.
A memorial service is being planned in April. Burial was in Ridge Hill
Memorial Park Cemetery, Amherst, OH, with Rev. Mark Pemberton, pastor of St.
Peter United Church of Christ officiating.
Family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's
Association for Research, 12200 Fairhill Road, Cleveland, OH 44120.

Lorain, OH is handling the arrangements.
