 Jan L. Perkins

 

    Jan L. Perkins, 55 of Lorain passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2006, at Community Health Partners and Surgical Center in Lorain following a brief illness.

     Jan was born in Lorain, OH on February 26, 1950.

 He was a 1968 gradute of Admiral King High School and a US Navy Veteran. He was employed at Ford Motor-Avon. He was a member of the First Congregational United Church Of Christ. Jan worked part time for Lorain County Cab Company.

     He was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews, his cats and taking road trips.

     Jan is survived by his brothers:  Randy L. Perkins of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Ed  Terrell of Tempe AZ., Robert W. Perkins of Elyria, OH, sister:  Nancy R. Perkins Phillips of Lorain, OH and nine nieces and nephews,  and longtime companion Nancy Golden of Lorain.

     He was preceded in death by his father Robert  L. Perkins, mother Helen (nee Bakir) Perkins Terrell and his step-mother Irene (nee Doychak) Perkins

     A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 12, 2006, at 1:00 PM in the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 423 Washington Ave. Lorain, Ohio 44052 with Rev. Carl Richter, pastor,  officiating.

      Arrangements are being handled by the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio  44052.

     The family suggest that memorial contributions maybe made to the family through the funeral home or to the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 423 Washington Ave. Lorain Ohio  44052.

JAN WAS ALWAYS A SPECIAL FRIEND WHO COULD ALWAYS MAKE ME SMILE.  I HAVEN'T SEEN HIM IN YEARS AND WAS SHOCKED THAT THE GOOD LORD TOOK HIM SO SOON.  I WILL ALWAYS HAVE GREAT MEMORIES THAT WILL LAST FOREVER JUST LIKE JAN'S SMILE.
