Florence G. Mate
Florence
G. Mate, 93 (nee Gerhart) of Lorain died Thursday, August 24, 2006, at the
Edgewood Manor Nursing Home in Port Clinton following a long illness.
Mrs. Mate was born in Lorain, OH on May 14, 1913. She was a graduate of
Lorain High School and an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church in
Lorain. She was a retired check out clerk at the A & P and the Fisher Foods
grocery food chains.
She loved to read.
Mrs. Mate is survived by a brother Alfred Gerhart of Chattanooga, TN
and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank J. Mate 1997, her
parents, Frederick and Adela (nee Pekrul) Gerhart, brother Herman Gerhart
and a sister Leona Rogers.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 26, 2006, in the Schwartz,
Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, OH, at
12:00 PM on Saturday, August 26th, with Rev. Edgar Anthony, pastor of the
Sts. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery Amherst Township,
OH.

Ashland Ave., Lorain, Ohio 44053.
