Edward G. Klingbeil
Edward G. Klingbeil, 96 of Lorain passed away at the New Life Hospice Center
at St. Joseph on Friday, April 21, 2006 following a brief illness.
Mr. Klingbeil was born in Lorain on August 1, 1909 and was a lifetime
resident of the area. He graduated from Lorain High School in 1927 and began
a long and successful career with the Lorain Morning Journal. He began in
the mailroom and worked his way to the circulation director in 1952. He
remained in that position until his retirement in 1974.
Mr. Klingbeil was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in
Lorain. He was also a member of the NRA, the Safety Council, Senior
Sociable's, Friends of the Library and the Black River Historical Society.
He especially enjoyed his grandchildren, reading, skeet shooting,
crossword puzzles and woodworking.
Mr. Klingbeil is survived by his wife Lucile A. (nee Meyer) Klingbeil
to whom he was married on July 1, 1939. Also surviving are four daughters,
Jane R. Klingbeil, Arlene M. Majesky both of Lorain, Barbara L. Shumaker of
Norwalk, Donna J. Long of Elyria Township, 7 grandchildren and one great
grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his parents Charles F. and Kathryn (nee
Scheele) Klingbeil, brothers Arthur and Karl Klingbeil and sisters Florence
Montgomery and Eleanor Klingbeil.
There is no public visitation.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 24, 2006 from 9:00 AM
until Mass time at 10::00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church on Monday, 1305
E. Erie Street, Lorain, OH. Rev. Edmond Golbach and Deacon James Debrason
will officiate. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to New Life

Ohio 44053 or the St. Anthony Church Restoration Fund, 1305 E. Erie Street,
Lorain, Ohio 44052.
