To Cousins Joey Calabrese and Debra and David Macur,
You have our deepest sympathy at the loss of your brother and father.
My grandfather, Raffaelle and his brother Anthony Calabrese were two of the
hundreds of immigrants who settled in Monessan, PA from the region of
Rogliano near Cosenza, leaving the village of Cuti in the Northern region of
Italia. The steel mill offering jobs and the promise of a better future drew
these men and their families to Lorain, Ohio.
We are grateful for the spirit, strength, and sacrifice that is our history.
We enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and the benefits of living in the
greatest country on earth.
It is at this time we celebrate a life that is part of our history given to
us from our ancestors closing their lives in the homeland.
The mysteries of our family and why we have arrived to our current place and
time allows us to ask you to send your memories to the above E-mail address.
Please share your recollections of the Calabrese Family oral history with
Joseph and Debra Calabrese.
Sharing your grief,
Caio

Debbie and Dave,
I am so sorry to hear about Uncle Nick. My dad saw it in the paper and
called me. It is so hard to lose a parent, words can't begin to express what
you're feeling. You were so lucky to have him for so long. My prayers are
with you.
Love, Cheri

Debbie -
Your dad was honestly one of my favorite people in the world. No matter
what he always had a smile and a laugh for me. I was looking forward to
seeing him in a few weeks at Jeff's bowling tournament he always bowled at.
During Grandpa's sickness and death he never failed to worry about us even
though he was pretty sick himself. What a great guy. I'll miss him.
Love,
Gina

that many of us didn't realize how sick he really was. Please accept our
